Best GF store bought breads??

I know not everyone has the time to bake their own bread all the time, but I don't know anything about store bought gluten-free breads. Can you guys please give some suggestions for the best tasting, nutritious breads that are available on the shelf?

Thanks! :)

Wow, I'm so impressed by all of your breads!

As far as store bought breads, I really think there's nothing better than the whole food gluten free bakehouse breads. I like the prairie bread the best - its covered in a variety of seeds and is the closest I've found to good tasting bread.

I suppose the glutino stuff isn't too bad (though I prefer their bagels to their bread), but I'm really not a fan of any of the food for life breads - they're half the size of a normal slice of bread and taste very brown rice-y. yuck!

hope this helps!

Ezekial brand sprouted grain breads. Good flavor and texture.

See, if you don't know an answer, just ask! Thank you guys so much for answering my store-bought GF bread question, I appreciate it.
So, for those of you out there that don't have the time to bake, it sounds like you have some wonderful options available to you. I don't have that here, unfortunately, so I'll just keep on baking! :)

Being Gluten, Dairy, Soy AND Yeast free, the couple of loafs I've tried store-bought are HORRIBLE. Just like styrofoam ... literally! But, the Food For Life brand Brown Rice Wraps are good and Trader Joes makes some, too. Both are not really that "bendy" unless you microwave them or you can roll up your wrap and then panini press it. But hey, in a pinch, they're pretty good!

I really like O'doughs GF bread.

Available in Winnipeg at Lorenzos. It smells, looks and tastes like real bread.

Clara, without wheat or yeast, it must be really hard to find a bread! Wow!

etrain - thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to keep that in mind. I'd like to try a different bread, just to see how mine compares. ;)

Where has this blog been all my life!?! I just stumbled upon your site and I'm so thrilled, I just can't wait to try some recipes asap!

I know this post is quite old, but I'm a huge fan of the Whole Foods Bakehouse Breads too. The sourdough is really fantastic, and the prairie bread is amazing! Glutino bagels are great, so are their english muffins, which I often use as hamburger buns (because I haven't found good buns at all). They're just the right size and texture for a decent, portion-sized burger. Trader Joes just started carrying Brown Rice Flour Tortillas which I LOVE! I've never liked corn tortillas so these are great for my Mexican food cravings, especially quesadillas!

Thanks for this blog! It really looks like a fantastic resource and I have a feeling I'll be totally hooked from here on out.

Thank you so much, Mel! Your comment has made my day. :)
From the list of breads & wraps that you have available, I'm totally jealous!! We don't have Whole Foods or Trader Joes here, but if I ever go the US again (have to have passports to do so soon), I will definitely be hunting these two places down. :)
